About Amy Romaine
The founder and principal attorney of The Law Office of A.M. ROMAINE, PA. Amy consults with clients and helps them with estate planning, probate, trust administration and elder law.
After serving in the United States Air Force as a jet engine mechanic, Ms. Romaine was honorably discharged to attend St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami. After earning her Juris Doctor in December 2002, she was hired as an associate in a Melbourne law firm that focused on personal injury and civil litigation. In May of 2005, Ms. Romaine formed the Law Office of A. M. Romaine, PA. Today, this practice is dedicated to handling estate planning, trust administration, probate, guardianship, and personal injury on behalf of our clients.
About Laurel Nugent
Laurel Nugent focuses primarily on transactional business law and landlord tenant law. She also handles matters involving civil litigation, mediation, international law, and basic estate planning. She is licensed to practice law in Florida and Oregon and is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified County Mediator.
Laurel graduated from Vermont Law School where she participated in a dual degree program with the University of Cergy-Pontoise in France where she earned two master's degrees in business law, focusing primarily on in-house counsel services. While in Paris, she worked with the law firm DJP Avocats where she assisted with the international tax consequences of a $700 million international merger, and wrote her thesis on international R&D tax credit.
Outside her practice, Laurel works with WeVenture and the Women’s Business Center as a mentor and guest speaker for new and second stage businesses. Laurel also sits on the board and serves as head coach for the Heart & Soul Dragon Boat team.
Our Staff
Clairesse “Clair” Shifman
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and has been living in Brevard County, Florida since 2012. She graduated from Eastern Florida State College in 2017 from an ABA approved Paralegal Program and is currently a licensed Notary Public. Clair enjoys reading, walking around the Viera Wetlands, and spending time with her husband and her Ragdoll cats: Pookie and Byakko.
Maria Requena
Maria is the office manager/administrative assistant to the office. She has returned to our office after a 2 year hiatus and brings with her impeccable time management and organization skills. She is a Florida Notary public. Born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, Maria grew up in Brevard County and is a wife and mother of adorable 4 children. Maria is a HUGE Marvel and Disney fanatic.
